FAQ: Facility
Facility
Kindergarten classrooms are in a "pod" type setting with heavy retractable doors between the rooms, allowing the teachers to open them or close them depending on the activity. Each room connects to another room, with each grade level within a short distance of each other.
Are primary students be in contact with middle school students?
Generally, there is little to no interaction between the primary students and the middle school students. In the design of the building, we have been careful to ensure there are physical separations between the two schools, which will prevent middle school students and primary students from being in the hallway together. Through our scheduling, we are trying to limit contact between the groups as well. For example, middle school will start at 8:00am, but the primary school will start at 8:15. Lunch is held in separate locations, and at separate times of the day. Occasionally, there are projects where the older students come to tutor or perform for the primary students. Our goal when mixing older students with younger ones is in a constructive, positive way such as reading buddies.
