Hello Primary Families!

I hope you have had a restful and relaxing Spring Break and Easter holiday. It is during this time of resurrection that I reflect and ask myself, "Am I doing the best I can for those around me? Am I willing to do whatever it takes to not only do the right thing, but to do what's in the best interest of others?" Whether you are a Christian or not, it is important to ask yourself and reflect upon what it is that we do for others. I hope you will help your child to make good choices by being the kind of role model your child deserves. Remember that every day your child is watching you and emulating your behavior. I think we have wonderful parents and families at PPA and I will continue to include all of you in my prayers.

A few announcements and reminders:

Principal Updates March 1, 2013

Hello Pinellas Primary Families!

Here are some announcements that have recently been sent out via email.

Uniform Infractions
o I met with my 3rd Grade Principal’s Advisory Committee and a couple of parents to try and find a solution to the uniform infractions we are continuing to encounter. The 3rd Grade Principal’s Advisory Committee is a student advisory group made up of 3rd grade students. The consensus is that instead of being the “uniform police” I will be doing random whole class checks for uniform compliance. All students wearing the correct uniform will receive a Phoenix Feather which they can save and cash in for treasure box items, Principal for a Day, or various other things including PPA Spirit shirts.
§ Uniforms include:
Black or white shoes with no patterns (flowers, plaids, or prints)
SOLID black, navy, or white socks – no colored bands at the tops

NUT (No Uniform Today) Days

Last month, as part of our fund raising efforts with the Spring Fair, we created a Business Directory of businesses who have connections with our school.  Please download the directory by clicking here, and support those businesses who support the education your child is receiving!

Logos

Pinellas Primary Academy would like to give a big shout out and thank you to DragoArt.com for the inspiration in the development of our school's logo.  The original phoenix used to develop our logo came from  http://www.dragoart.com/tuts/4109/1/1/how-to-draw-a-chibi-phoenix.htm.  Thank you to DragoArt for their permission to use this design.
